Starting a new site for myself

I am starting a new site. Using Drupal.

New: blog (I have been blogging sporadically on other sites until now).

Old: Content from user-experience.org, uuslash.org and other scattered stuff, all to be mooshed ("mooshed" is a technical IA term!) into this one new site. And yes, some form of usableweb.com will eventually make its way here.

Still very much a work-in-progress, as you can see.

Over time, I will add more current blog entries. On occassion I will also "back blog" - create an entry dated in the past and written as if I had posted it long ago. So if you see an entry older than this one, it is probably a back blog.

Nexus of User Profile Interests and Drupal Taxonomy System

I liked your post ( http://drupal.org/node/24702) about user-interests and taxonomies and your idea about connecting them. I found it while searching for just that capability at drupal.org. Did you proceed further? If not let's get this working, even if a kluge. What you really need is a field that will allow you to relate multiple taxonomy entries to a user profile, and to automatically relate users of a certain role with select entries, etc. It seems like this has probably been done before, no?

Re: Nexus of User Profile Interests and Drupal Taxonomy System

I submitted a Drupal feature request this morning: http://drupal.org/node/29259. Let's see what the response is, since no one seemed interested in my original question. Thanks for the encouragement.

Back Blogging

How can we be sure that this isn't a "back blog"? Will we be able to "back comment"? I hope this practice doesn't catch on as I have enough trouble keeping up to date with stuff that's being blogged in real time, let alone back blogged entries.
